Protests at launch of dramatic German viewing platform

A dramatic new viewing platform overhanging a 1000m cliff has opened in the southern Alps in Germany.

The "AlpspiX" gives visitors a unique view of the nation's highest peak, the Zugspitze, and the surrounding area.

But not everyone is happy with the view.

One of the world's greatest rock climbers mounted a special kind of protest at the opening.

Bill Hayton reports.
