Man dies after incident in Stoke-on-Trent street

A 30-year-old man injured during an incident in Stoke-on-Trent in June has died.

Israr Ellahi, of Stanley Street, suffered head injuries in the incident which took place in Tunstall and had been in a critical condition since.

He died in hospital during Thursday afternoon.

Staffordshire Police said an inquiry was ongoing and that several people had been arrested. A post-mortem examination is to take place.

Insp Mark Hardern said once the cause of death was known he would liaise with colleagues at the Crown Prosecution Service.

Anyone with information about the 18 June incident, which took place at about 23OO BST at the junction of Roundwell Street and Nash Peake Street should contact police or Crimestoppers.
