Cyclist, 9, airlifted when hit by car in Peterborough

A nine-year-old boy has been hit by a car as he rode his bike in Cambridgeshire.

The emergency services including the East Anglian Air Ambulance were called to Oundle Road in Peterborough at 1600 BST.

The boy was anaesthetised at the scene by medical crews so he could be flown by the air ambulance to hospital.

He was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital and has been described as in a serious condition with multiple injuries.
