Colchester maternity ward reopens after a power cut

A maternity ward in Essex which had to close when an electrical fault knocked out some of the power has reopened.

Colchester General Hospital's neonatal unit had to rely on back up facilities for some of the incubators on Tuesday.

Women could not give birth at the hospital and new admissions were sent to wards in Cambridgeshire, Essex and Suffolk instead.

The unit, which cares for sick and premature babies, reopened at 1500 BST.
