Lancashire dead tree collision driver named by police

A 20-year-old man, who died after his car left the road and hit a tree, has been named by Lancashire Police.

Roman Vrublevskij, from Lithuania, suffered serious head injuries and was dead on arrival at Southport Hospital after the crash in Skelmersdale.

He had been driving his silver Ford Probe along Digmoor Road at 2115 BST on 26 June.

An investigation into the cause of the collision is under way and police have appealed for witnesses.

Sgt Philip Elsden said: "I would appeal to anybody who witnessed this collision to contact police as we try to piece together the exact circumstances leading up to this tragic collision."
