Devon fire crews battle Kingswear woodland fire

Crews have worked through the night to tackle a forest fire in south Devon.

Emergency services were alerted to the blaze at Long Wood in Kingswear by members of the public.

The fires began in tinder-dry woodland on a steep hillside at about 1715 BST. At its height, 14 engines from across the county were at the scene.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said crews had to contain two separate fires involving grass and woodland.

No-one was injured.
