Run-over man abused over 'gothic clothes' in Blackwater

A man, dressed in gothic-style clothes, was run over by a driver who targeted him because of his appearance.

The 24-year-old was walking along the A30 in Blackwater on Sunday with a female friend when a blue Ford Fiesta pulled up alongside them.

Surrey Police said the occupants of the vehicle shouted abuse at the couple over their style of fashion.

The driver then reversed over the man's foot before driving towards him, forcing him to jump over the bonnet.

The victim was treated at Frimley Park Hospital for bruising to his shoulder.

Pc Daniel Simpson said: "This was an unacceptable and unprovoked attack on a couple walking along minding their own business."
