More than £16,000 has been raised for three charities from an event organised by Dyfed-Powys Police in the Brecon Beacons.

The endurance challenge required teams of four to navigate a 25-mile (40km) course taking in Brecon, Pen-y-Fan and the central Beacons.

The money raised has been split between Wales Air Ambulance, Brecon Mountain Rescue Team and Help for Heroes.

Brecon Multisport won the challenge for the second successive year.

The team completed the circuit in four hours and 42 minutes.

Event organiser Gary Philpott said: "Once again this was a fantastic event, which exceeded all our expectations.

"It was an ideal opportunity for our service personnel as well as members of the public, to work together in aid of these very much needed services within our community."

Teams from the community, the military, the police, fire and ambulance services took part.

Last year the event helped raise £20,000 for charity.
