The roof of the Conservative club in Newhaven caved in during the fire
A fire in East Sussex that destroyed a town's Conservative club is not being treated as suspicious.
The fire and rescue service said it had completed its internal investigation into the fire in South Way, Newhaven, on Saturday.
Sixty-nine firefighters were called to the blaze, which swept through the building at 0150 BST and was brought under control 10 hours later.
One firefighter was treated in hospital after breaking a bone in his hand.
The fire service said 14 appliances were called in from across the county throughout the night and used in rotation, with six pumps fighting the fire at any one time.
The crews' efforts were hampered after the roof of the property caved in.
Residents in neighbouring homes were led to safety as a precaution.
