Man dies as bin lorry hits Seasalter bungalow

A driver died when a bin lorry hit a bungalow in Kent.

Police said they believed 62-year-old male driver of the lorry may have fallen ill before the crash on Monday morning.

Officers said it was understood the lorry hit a parked car which was also pushed into the property in Faversham Road, Seasalter.

The woman who lived in the bungalow was at the back of the property at the time and was not injured.

The lorry driver, a 62-year-old man from Herne Bay, has not been formally identified but his family have been informed.

Police and the air ambulance was called to the scene at about 0750 BST, but the driver died before he could be taken to hospital.

Kent Police said a building inspector had attended the scene and advised that neither the car nor the lorry should be moved because of concerns about structural damage to the property.
