Taxi driver charged over fatal collision in Essex

A taxi driver has been charged in connection with a collision last December in Essex in which a man died.

John Cooper, 74, from Pitsea, Essex, died when his car was in collision with a taxi on the A127 at West Horndon early on 3 December.

A 40-year-old taxi driver from Basildon has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving.

He is due to appear before the town's magistrates' court on 8 July.
