Crews tackle fire at Fiddlers Ferry power station

More than 20 firefighters have been tackling a blaze at a power station in Cheshire.

The fire started on a conveyor belt which transports coal into Fiddlers Ferry station at about 1645 BST on Sunday.

Crews have extinguished the flames, but the area still remains smoke-logged and they have been dampening down overnight. There was no major damage.

A fire service spokesman said an investigation was under way.
