Suspect package found by police station in Liverpool

A controlled explosion has been carried out on a suspicious package left by a telephone booth near a police station in Liverpool.

Bomb disposal experts were called after a passer-by saw the package on West Derby Road, near Tuebrook police station on Saturday night.

Officers closed nearby roads while they investigated. West Derby Road has been re-opened after being closed overnight.

Four local men have been arrested. Police are doing tests on the parcel.
