Two in hospital after A55 crash

An 82-year-old woman and a man have been taken to hospital after a car carrying four people overturned on the A55 near Llanfairfechan, Gwynedd.

The woman is understood to have been thrown from the car and has suffered serious injuries, says the Welsh Ambulance Service.

The man, whose age is unknown, had chest and abdomen injuries. Two others were described as "walking wounded".

Drivers are warned of delays westbound at junction 13 and 14.

The ambulance service was called to the incident at 1620 BST.

A spokesman said crews discovered a car on its roof. Two of the passengers have been taken to Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor.
