Four arrested after man found in Oxford street dies

Four people have been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter after a man found hurt in an Oxford street died in hospital.

The 56-year-old was found lying unconscious in a grassed area in Ashurst Way, Rose Hill, at 0230 BST on Saturday.

Police said his death was being treated as unexplained. It is thought he may have been involved in a row.

Two men, aged 23 and 20, and two 17-year-old boys have been arrested.

Post-mortem tests are due take place on Sunday, Thames Valley Police said.

The man died at John Radcliffe Hospital.

Det Insp Simon Morton said: "We are trying to work out exactly what happened to this man before he was found unconscious in Ashurst Way.

"We understand that he was involved in some form of altercation and that has led us to make four arrests.

"We await the results of the post-mortem and currently have a team of detectives working on various lines of inquiry which should help us piece together the events leading to his death."
