Vandals remove gully gratings on Torquay cycle path

Cyclists risked serious injuries because of an act of vandalism in a Devon resort, police have said.

Gully gratings on the designated cycle path between Scot's Bridge and the Willows, in Torquay, were removed overnight.

Highway engineers from Torbay Council were called to the path at first light and have now replaced the gratings.

"This was a dangerous thing to do which could have potentially caused a nasty accident," a police spokesman said.

Anyone with information should contact Devon and Cornwall Police.
