Man's death in Taunton treated as suspicious

Police in Somerset say they are treating the death of a man in his 50s as suspicious.

Officers found the man after being called to an address in Severn Drive, Taunton, on Wednesday evening, following reports of an assault.

He was taken to Musgrove Park Hospital with head injuries and later died.

Three people have been arrested on suspicion of murder, an Avon and Somerset Police spokesman said.

"Anyone who was in the Severn Road area between 8 and 9.30pm last night [Wednesday] should contact police or Crimestoppers.

"Detectives have confirmed the death is being treated as suspicious, pending the outcome of a post-mortem [examination]," he added.
