Norfolk shooting suspect still held

Police have been granted extra time to question a man on suspicion of attempting to murder a couple who were shot in Norfolk.

The husband and wife, believed to be in their 60s, were attacked in Nordelph, near Downham Market, on Wednesday.

The man was shot in the hand and is described as being in a stable condition. The woman has since been discharged from hospital.

A 57-year-old local man was arrested soon after the incident.

Supt Nick Davison said: "This appears to be a local dispute between two households who live along the same street and the incident was confined to these people."

The woman, who was shot in the torso, was taken along with her husband to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King's Lynn.

The man has since been transferred to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.
