Man, 35, shot dead in Bellingham, south London


A man has died after being shot in Bellingham, south London.

The 35-year-old was found after police were called to Oslac Road, close to Beckenham Hill railway station, at about 0020 BST on Wednesday.

He was taken to King's College Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Officers said they believed they knew the victim's name but would not release it until after a post-mortem examination was held on Thursday. No arrests have been made.

Operation Trident, which deals with gun crime in London's black community, is investigating.
