Gloucestershire engineering firm Renishaw recruiting

A Gloucestershire-based engineering firm which shed more than 300 jobs in the county last year has announced it is recruiting more than 100 new staff.

Following difficulties due to the global downturn in 2009, a Renishaw spokesman said that orders had more than doubled in the past 12 months.

A spokesman said the company is seeking 110 new employees in the UK, most of them in Gloucestershire.

It has created another 80 jobs in its overseas operations, he added.

Renishaw has four sites in Gloucestershire, where 1,273 people are based.

A spokesman said jobs on offer included production and software engineers and MR physicists.
