A shop worker was tied up with sticky tape while a thief escaped with £2,000 from a shop in Hampshire.

The 23-year-old woman was working at the Phones 4U store in Waterlooville shopping precinct on Monday between 0800 and 0845 BST.

The woman answered a knock at the back door and the robber burst in, threatening her and making reference to a gun, although none was produced.

The woman was forced to hand over cash before being tied up.

The man left the store with the cash in a black bag with the LG logo on it and went in the direction of Curzon Road.

Det Sgt David Wilson said: "Fortunately the victim was not injured, though she was left understandably shaken and upset by this incident."

The man is described as white, 5ft 8ins to 5ft 9ins tall, of stocky build, wearing a bright blue and white hooded top, dark blue shorts, white trainers and aviator style sunglasses. The suspect also had a deep gruff voice
