Wedding guests die in India road crash

At least 17 people died when a speeding truck rammed into two tractors pulling trailers loaded with guests returning from a wedding in southern India.

The groom was among those killed. The accident took place in Warangal district in Andhra Pradesh state.

The bride and 19 other people were injured, police said.

The accident took place when the truck driver lost control of his vehicle and crashed into the tractors which were parked by the roadside.

Thousands of people die in India every year in road accidents. Most are blamed on bad driving or poor roads and vehicles.
