Three Counties Show falls short of visitor target

Just short of 100,000 people attended the Three Counties Show in Worcestershire, organisers have said.

They said 98,000 people went to the agricultural event in Malvern at the weekend - 6,000 more than last year.

There was a record number of livestock - 3,386 - entered at this year's show, which is almost 500 more than in 2009.

It is thought the event benefited from the closing of the Royal Show in Warwickshire.

Sharon Gilbert, from the event, said it has been hugely successful.
