Illegal workers employed by Cornwall takeaway

All four staff at a Falmouth takeaway have been arrested by Border Agency officers investigating illegal workers.

Three men arrested at the Mayflower takeaway restaurant on 17 June were all failed asylum seekers. A Malaysian woman had entered the UK illegally.

A fifth person, a Chinese man who was on the premises but not working, was also a failed asylum seeker.

They remain in detention at Camborne Police Station while steps are being taken to remove them from the UK.

The owners of the Mayflower takeaway face a fine of up to £40,000 for employing illegal workers.
