Youths throw man through window in Hampshire

A man was thrown through a window and repeatedly punched after telling youths to be quiet outside his Hampshire home.

The 29-year-old was attacked in Birch Close, Bordon, on Friday between 2215 and 2245 BST.

He sustained serious cuts to his arm and minor head injuries and was taken to the Royal Surrey Hospital in Guildford.

Officers were on the scene within minutes and chased the youths but they ran off into a nearby housing estate.

Pc Alex Stypulkowski, of Hampshire Constabulary, said: "This was an entirely unprovoked attack which happened after the victim asked a group to keep the noise down and then they have turned on him.

"Although incidents like this are rare, this was a sustained and vicious attack which resulted in the man being thrown through a window and repeatedly punched."

Hampshire police have stepped up patrols in the area.
