Paisley pop star Paolo Nutini has been named Style Icon of the Year at the fifth Scottish fashion awards.

Glasgow textile designer Jonathan Saunders was also on the tartan carpet at Glasgow's Science centre to collect his Scots designer of the year award.

It was the second time he had picked up the trophy.

Ayrshire hair stylist Malcolm Edwards was inducted into the 2010 Hall of Fame. He has worked in campaigns for Prada and Burberry.

Among the other winners at Sunday's ceremony were Holly Fulton, who scooped the prize for Young Designer of the Year, while Lisa Oman walked away as the country's top model.

One of judges at the event, Brian Duffy, who is president of Ralph Lauren Europe, said the awards were "an important platform for nurturing creative and innovative fashion talents from Scotland".

He added: "These kind of opportunities are invaluable to up-and-coming young brands.

"Being from Glasgow myself, it's incredible to see such a diverse range of innovators hailing from Scotland."
