Armed robber raids New Romney betting shop


A robber armed with what was believed to be a firearm has raided a bookmakers in Kent and stolen cash.

Kent Police said the man entered the betting shop in New Romney High Street on Friday morning and threatened staff and customers.

Officers said he left the store with an undisclosed amount of cash at about 1030 BST.

Police said no shots were fired and no-one was injured. The man was dressed in black and was wearing a baseball cap.

Anyone with information has been asked to contact police.
