Heavy rain deters many from World Cup screen in Bristol
Heavy rain deterred many football fans from watching England play Algeria on a big screen in Bristol.
More than 6,000 people were given tickets to watch the game in Queen Square but a BBC reporter on site estimated the crowd to be nearer 2,000.
An Avon and Somerset Police spokesman said no arrests had been made so far.
Technical problems, also believed to have been caused by the weather, blacked-out the screen for a short time.
The event was made all-ticket and alcohol-free after amid safety concerns when some fans clashed with officials at last Saturday's match.
A Bristol City Council spokesman said the council wanted to make the event more family friendly.
No alcohol was on sale and organisers were searching people's bags as they entered.
Some 8,000 free tickets had been made available for the match.
