Cyclist, 70, dies after van collision in Epping


A 70-year-old cyclist has died in hospital after a crash in Essex.

The accident happened when the man from Ongar was in collision with a Mercedes van on Houblons Hill in Epping on Thursday afternoon.

The cyclist was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow but died later. The van driver, a 52-year-old from Harlow, was unhurt.

A section of the road was closed for about four hours as police investigated the cause of the crash.
