A 31-year-old man, who was arrested after a tip-off from a BBC Crimewatch viewer, has been charged with conspiracy to murder.
Rizwan Arif, has been charged over shots fired at a man and his son as they walked home from a mosque in Fulwood, Preston, on February 12.
He is due to appear at Preston Magistrates Court later.
Four others have been charged over the incident and have been remanded in custody until 5 October.
Mr Arif was arrested at an address in Ilford, Essex after a viewer called police following Tuesday's Crimewatch programme.
Also charged with conspiracy to murder are: Pheo Charlery, 19, of Burges Road, London; Manjit Sandhu, 25, of Fairlawns Close, Hornchurch; Kasha Hayes, 18, of Sylvan Road, Ilford, Essex; and Uwais Ilyas, 22, from London.
