Cannabis plants found by Truro firefighters

Firefighters have uncovered a suspected cannabis-growing operation at a property in Cornwall.

Crews were alerted to a fire about 1400 BST and had to force entry to the unoccupied property in Fairfax Road, Truro.

The brigade said while firefighters were tackling the fire, signs of cannabis manufacturing were found in the roof space.

Police confirmed plants were found in the attic and a downstairs room.

The fire is believed to have been accidental and no-one was hurt.

A police spokesman said no arrests had been made.
