Burst tyre leads to delays at East Midlands Airport


Flights in and out of East Midlands Airport were disrupted after a burst tyre on a small aircraft caused the runway to be blocked.

Twelve inbound flights were diverted to Birmingham Airport and one flight was diverted to Leeds Airport.

The incident, which happened just after 1400 BST, also led to some delays to outbound flights.

A spokeswoman said the the runway was now cleared and passengers were advised to check in as normal.
