Climber, 21, airlifted after Peak District fall


A climber was airlifted to hospital with head injuries after falling in the Peak District in Derbyshire.

Emergency crews and Buxton Mountain Rescue Team were called at about 1510 BST on Wednesday to Stanage, near Hathersage.

The 21-year-old from Sheffield had been leading a climb on Robin Hood's Cave Buttress when he fell from an overhang.

He was taken by air ambulance to Sheffield's Northern General Hospital.
