Police officer 'in serious condition' after A27 crash


A Hampshire police officer who was hit by a van while he was dealing with another crash remains in a serious condition in hospital.

Pc Nick Oliver, 30, sustained serious life-threatening injuries when he was struck on the A27 on Wednesday 9 June.

He was dealing with another accident involving a Mini Cooper which had left the eastbound carriageway at Cosham.

Hampshire police are renewing an appeal for witnesses.

Pc Oliver was taken to Southampton General Hospital with serious head injuries and remains in intensive care.

A 52-year-old man from Havant was arrested on suspicion of driving without due care and attention and later released on bail.
