A search and rescue helicopter from RNAS Culdrose has airlifted two casualties to hospital in Cornwall.

The first alert came just after midday after a 48-year-old woman suffered a suspected stroke at Constantine.

Less than two hours later, the crew was tasked to go the Isles of Scilly to airlift a 73-year-old man in need of urgent medical attention.

Falmouth Coastguard said both casualties were airlifted to the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro.

The condition of the patients is not known.
