Witnesses to a crash between a motorcyclist and a refrigerated lorry on a Fife road have been urged to contact the police.
The crash happened on the A915 at Gilston House, near Largoward, at about 1700 BST on Tuesday.
The 24-year-old motorcyclist sustained serious injuries and was treated by a trauma team before being taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee.
The 23-year-old lorry driver was unhurt.
The incident involved a green Kawasaki motorbike and a turquoise refrigerated HGV.
The road remained closed for four-and-a-half hours while an investigation was carried out.
Appealing for witnesses to come forward, Insp Brenda Sinclair, of Fife Constabulary, said the injured motorcyclist remained in a "critical condition."
