Soldier killed and three injured in Hampshire car crash


A soldier died and three others were injured when the car they were travelling in came off the road and ended up in a field in Hampshire.

Two of the men are in a critical condition following the crash in Whitehill Road, in Standford, Bordon, on Tuesday at about 2130 BST.

The fourth man escaped with minor injuries and is recovering in hospital.

All four men were soldiers serving locally. They had to be cut free from the wreckage by fire crews.

A Ministry of Defence spokeswoman said officials are aware of the incident, which is under investigation.

Police are appealing for witnesses.
