Third consecutive fall in Cornwall's jobless claimants


For the third consecutive month, the number of people out of work and claiming benefit in Cornwall has dropped.

According to the Office of National Statistics, 8,103 people claimed Jobseeker's Allowance in May.

It represents 2.6% of the population, but the figure is 732 lower than the previous month.

The number of claimants in the UK fell by 30,900, but overall unemployment rose during the three months to April.
