CCTV released by police probing Shotts murder
Police investigating the murder of a man shot on his doorstep in Lanarkshire a week ago have released a video of a person they believe may be vital to their inquiries.
Father-of-four Anthony Wright died in hospital after being shot in Inverkip Drive in Shotts last Wednesday.
The CCTV footage shows a man walking in the street.
Officers stopped and questioned pedestrians and motorists in the town on Wednesday morning.
The detective leading the murder hunt said the response to earlier appeals for information had been "slightly disappointing".
Mr Wright had a number of criminal convictions and was described by police as "no angel".
However, they said he was a "dedicated family man."
It is understood he was shot in his driveway by a lone gunman as he left his home for work, then struck a second time further down the street.
Det Supt John McSporran said: "We are now one week into this inquiry and this operation will give us the opportunity to speak to people who were in the vicinity around this particular time one week ago.
"Hopefully we can jog their memories about anything they may have seen or heard which could assist our inquiries.
"The public response so far has been slightly disappointing, but I hope that this operation will rectify this."
A dedicated e-mail address has also been set up in relation to the inquiry.
