Six people treated after Rutland bus fire

Six people have been treated after breathing in smoke when a double-decker bus caught fire in Rutland.

Firefighters were called to the A606 in Barnsdale, near Oakham, on Tuesday evening and used breathing apparatus to tackle the flames.

None of the passengers were reported to have serious injuries.

The fire, which was caused by an overheated starter motor, damaged the engine compartment and smoke affected the rest of the vehicle.
