Motorcyclist killed in ambulance crash in Andover


A motorcyclist has died in a collision with an ambulance which was responding to an emergency call in Hampshire.

The crash happened in Andover on the A303 slip road to the A3093 at about 1800 BST. The ambulance crew were not injured.

Police said the rider was a 52-year-old man from Basingstoke.

He crossed the central reservation of the dual carriageway and collided with an ambulance which was travelling in the opposite direction.

A section of the A3093 was closed for four hours to allow officers to conduct a full investigation.

Police said the motorbike may have been accompanied by another motorcycle at the time of the incident.
