Keith Willis of Gresham Road, Beccles in Suffolk, appeared at Norwich Crown Court charged with 22 counts including rape and sexual assault.

Richard Potts prosecuting said one of the alleged victims was aged five when the abuse started and another girl was seven.

Mr Willis denies all the offences. The trial is expected to last two weeks.

He is charged with; carrying out six indecent assaults and four counts of rape on a seven-year-old, four indecent assaults on a girl starting when she was under 16, four offences of indecent assault on a fourth girl and two counts of sexual assault on a fifth.
