A new 12 tonne bridge has opened over a Derbyshire river as part of a £180,000 improvement project.
The 65ft (20m) bridge over the river Erewash at Trent Meadows in Long Eaton is part of the Trent Valley Greenway project.
The bridge links up four miles (6.5km) of the Trent Valley Greenway pathway.
It will allow cyclists, horse riders and disabled people to use the riverside.
The bridge restores a circular route which passes through the Attenborough Nature Centre in Nottinghamshire.
Councillor Chris Jackson, the county council's cabinet member for highways and transport, said: "It's important for us to provide opportunities for recreation and healthy activities for all residents.
"This bridge helps us provide just that by offering safe routes for walkers, cyclists and horse riders, giving them access to some wonderful countryside."
