David Cameron on 'key' to success in Afghanistan mission

Help

Prime Minister David Cameron has outlined why British forces are in Afghanistan and what needs to be done to allow them to leave.

In a statement to the Commons following his visit to the country, he said it was in the interest of Britain's "national security" for al-Qaeda to be kept out of Afghanistan.

He said British troops would be able to leave once Afghans were able to look after their own security arrangements.
