Man absconds from Suffolk prison

Police are trying to trace an inmate who has absconded from a Suffolk prison.

James Whitlock, 25, was serving a sentence for theft at HMP Edmunds Hill in Stradishall, Newmarket.

A police spokeswoman said Whitlock, described as being of slight build, was believed to have left the prison on foot at about 0900 BST.

Anyone who sees him should contact police and not approach him or try to take action, the spokeswoman added.
