Two arrested over cyclist death in Essex

Two people have been arrested after a cyclist died in a collision with a car in Essex.

A 38-year-old man from Hutton died at the scene of the crash at Ongar Road, Stapleford Tawney, on Sunday evening.

Police said a Ford Puma collided with the cyclist before hitting trees and overturning in a ditch.

A 20-year-old woman from Brentwood and a 21-year-old man from Loughton are being questioned on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

Police would like to hear from anyone who saw the collision, or the cyclist and car beforehand. The car is thought to have turned off the B175 Stapleford Road into Ongar Road.
