Derby cancer charity fundraiser appointed MBE


A Derby woman who has spent decades raising money for a cancer charity has been recognised in the Queen's Birthday Honours list.

Norah Appleby, who as a member of the Derby branch of Cancer Research UK since 1963, has seen it pass the £1m raised mark.

Mrs Appleby has been appointed MBE for her services to the Community.

Ms Patricia Mary Coleman has become an OBE for services to Local Government and the Community in the East Midlands.
