South Yorkshire murder probe police in witness plea

Police investigating the murder of a man who was found injured in a street in Bentley have released a CCTV image of three potential witnesses.

John Lockwood, 45, was found with head and internal injuries in the South Yorkshire village's Lauder Road on 31 May and later died in hospital.

Dale Lockin, 29, of Wellington Grove, Bentley, has been charged with his murder and remanded in custody.

Police want to speak to three people seen on 31 May on Holly Avenue.

Mr Lockwood had been making his way home from the Limbreck Court area when he was attacked at about 0700 BST on 31 May.

South Yorkshire Police said the group of three people were captured on CCTV at about this time.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the force.
