A cat has lost part of its leg after becoming caught in an animal trap in Norfolk.
The RSPCA is trying to trace the owner of the animal, which was discovered by a dog walker near Barton Bendish on Sunday.
The cat was severely dehydrated and in terrible pain and had the legal trap used for pest control still attached to its leg, the charity said.
It is being cared for by a vet's family following surgery.
The man who found it took it to the RSPCA East Winch Wildlife Centre, where it was given antibiotics and painkillers.
It was then taken to a local vet where its left leg was amputated.
Alison Charles, wildlife centre manager at East Winch, said: "The cat is a young female tabby, and she was very dehydrated and emaciated when found, but she is surprisingly friendly and content now, although she is still very poorly.
"We are desperately trying to find the owner of this cat, as she may have been missing for some time."
