Two men have been rescued from a yacht which started sinking off Anglesey.

The RNLI said the 26ft (7.9m) Westerly yacht began sinking off Penmon, near Puffin Island and the volunteer crew of the Beaumaris lifeboat were called out at 1420 BST.

Holyhead Coastguard said the yacht's rudder had been ripped off as it went aground at Trwyn Du.

The men, both said to be local, were brought ashore by Beaumaris RNLI inshore lifeboat.

They tried to help the men to pump water out of the yacht, but the RNLI said it was "a losing battle".
